David qualified from Liverpool University in July 1984. He then worked for 10 years in mixed animal practice at Llangollen, North Wales, and Bedworth, Warwickshire. He then moved to Truro in 1994 to work alongside Tony Dyson and Michael Kingdon in the days when City Road was still a mixed practice. He lives with 3 cats and 2 dogs. Outside of work, David is busy with family life having two teenage children.  Fitness training at the gym and scuba diving are amongst his favourite pastimes.

Jamie qualified in Edinburgh, his home town, in 1982 and in his first job worked in mixed practice in Cornwall. He later worked mostly with small animal pets in Newcastle, London and Bristol before returning to Truro in 2000. His wife, Nicola, also works at the practice and they have two daughters, a Cairn terrier, a cat and two Guinea pigs. Veterinary interests include small furries and recently cytology. Outside of work, he enjoys walking, gardening, natural history and attempting to surf.

Simon qualified from Bristol University in October 1992. After a short period in private practice, he then spent 3 years working for the Blue Cross Animals Hospital in Victoria, London where he developed an interest in small animal dermatology. In 1996, he subsequently gained his RCVS certificate in veterinary dermatology. Before joining City Road in August 2007, Simon was head Vet at a number of prestigious practices in London and the South-East. He is one of a handful of vets in the South West of England who holds a recognised qualification in dermatology. He has been involved in taking referrals from other practices since 1997. Outside of work, Simon is an avid sports fan. He plays squash competitively. Has sailed the Channel, has climbed Mount Kenya in support of Guide Dogs for the Blind, and is devoted to his wife Lisa, children Poppy and Alfie and 2 cats Marley and Travis.

Sophie has been working at City Road Vets since 1996. She like most trainees started at the bottom of the ladder and has worked her way up to the position of head nurse. She qualified in 2005 and since then has taken an extra qualification, which enables her to train the student nurses in this practice. Her interests outside of work include running, socialising, horseriding and traveling.

After completing a performing arts course and GNVQ in Business at South Devon college in Torquay, Chloe has held a number of varied and interesting positions both domestically and abroad. In 2006, she settled in Truro and has been working at City Road Vets ever since. She loves working with animals and enjoys working for a company she feels give 100% at all times. Outside of work, she enjoys surfing, snowboarding, travelling, socialising, keeping fit and Samba dancing. Other interests include nutrition, health and beauty.

Sarah qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 1987. A local girl, she started her career at City Road veterinary centre whilst still at school. Sarah spent the first years in practice as a small animal intern, followed by four years at a small animal practice in Hayle and then Canterbury. She has spent several years in South Africa and Greece working for animal charities and as a locum returning to the uk in 2004. In her spare time Sarah enjoys horse riding, dog walking and reading, she is married with two children, one horse, three dogs, one cat, three guinea pigs and two hamsters.

Sam started at the practice as a work experience girl coming in for weekends, evenings and holidays and has never left. She is a qualified veterinary Nurse and was enrolled at the Royal college of veterinary surgeons as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in March 2009.Outside of work, Sam enjoys a variety of sports, especially Netball and horseriding, shopping and going out with friends. Sam really enjoys her job and all of its amazing, varied aspects of work.

Louisa started working for City Road in October 2007. She attained a number of GCSE's at Penair school and in addition has a NVQ level one in animal care. She is very much looking forward to completing her training in veterinary nursing. Outside of work she likes walking her 3 dogs, swimming, going out with friends and anything to do with music.

Becky is the newest member of the nursing team. She attended Richard Lander School where she completed numerous GCSE's in 2010 before starting with us in November 2011. Becky is due to begin her nurse training at Duchy College in September 2012. Outside of work Becky enjoys competing her horses – her favourite discipline being show jumping. She also participates in spinning classes and enjoys socialising with friends.
