Surgery & Anaesthetics

We offer the best care and the safest anaesthetics available for your pet.
These treatments may cost a little more, but we know that there are significant benefits to be gained for your pet. At City Road Veterinary Centre we are proud of our excellent record of safe anaesthesia. This is particularly reassuring to owners of older pets. We adhere to strict protocols to maintain this level of anaesthetic safety for your pet and your concern.

Before any surgery is undertaken, all pets are thoroughly checked on the morning of admission to make sure they are fit for anaesthesia. Very often blood tests are taken to confirm health and infusions are given to maintain hydration and blood pressure. The pets body temperature will be maintained throughout anaesthesia. Pain relief even for the smallest procedure is paramount. Surgeries are usually  undertaken in the morning to ensure that your pet can go home at the end of the day.Our Nurses are there to help monitor the pet and to provide love and care as the pets come round from the anaesthetic.
