COVID 19 Update on veterinary services
Saturday August 15th 2020
In line with the easing of restrictions across the UK, we are pleased to announce that we are able to offer as full a range of veterinary services as possible in a safe manner.
However, during the pandemic it will not be a return to pre-Covid ‘business as usual’.
From Monday August 17th, we will be working in 3 teams in separate work areas, working separately to one another , and ensuring we are strict social distancing whilst wearing PPE
We will be reserving telephone lines for urgent cases so please take advantage of our online booking system to make an appointment or if you need a repeat prescription, please email email@example.com
We plan to continue not to allow clients inside the building for the time being. The reason for this being a Covid 19 infection could mean us having to close the practice for 2 weeks minimum. The closed door policy helps us to reduce this risk significantly. We will continue to collect your pets in a contact free manner whilst keeping a physical distance.
The closed door policy does mean that each appointment tends to take longer and it requires at least 2 members of staff to carry it out. So whilst we have significantly more appointments available than during peak lockdown, we are by no means back to full capacity. Every day we reserve a number of appointments for urgent cases, so please can you book less urgent cases a week or two in advance.
On arrival, we ask you to please stay in your cars and call to alert us you have arrived. We would ask dogs are put on a lead and put in the boot of the car. Cats should be in a cat box and, when requested, placed on the ground. When you return to the car, we can them take your pet through for cuddles with our vets and nurses. Many owners are anxious about their pet attending the vets without them, but we have found almost exclusively animals are very easy to handle and are relaxed with the teams they generally know well. Remember, we are trained in behaviour and handling animals, to ensure a happy visit for your pet. Whist we know it is because you love them, we would ask you not to call after your dog as we lead them; they tend to pull back and it makes their trip a bit trickier. We do love your pet almost as much as you and we want to make it a nice experience for them.
We know many of you are now seasoned medicine collectors, but for those who have yet to do so, we do have a socially distanced method in place. For all repeat medications and flea and worm requests, we require 48h notice; email is preferable, but telephone if this is not possible. On collection, please call from the car park, and we will place medicines in the box on a chair outside the front door. Please stay at the end of the path; remember 2m is the distance we need to keep between ourselves and you for all of our safety
We are very grateful for your continued understanding during these most difficult times.
